Our Curriculum

We make nutrition education easy.

Once you receive your free box, our “top secret” website guides classrooms on a journey to save our food system with Food Detective skills. Designed to be customizable, the six modules can be spread out over the course of a week for a combined total of 2-3 hours.

1 - Introduction

After receiving an urgent message from Chip and Dip (our undercover Food Detectives), students learn what it means to become a Food Detective. Are they up to the challenge?

2 - marketing

Chip infiltrates a top secret food marketing meeting, and students put their new knowledge to the test by analyzing the front of their food products.

3 - Nutrition Facts

Every good Food Detective knows you have to check the back of the box to find out the truth. Students learn about serving sizes, sugar, and more.

4 - ingredient lists

It turns out you can learn some surprising things if you know where to look! Students read ingredient lists to find out of the marketing on the front of the box was misleading or not.

5 - additives

Have you ever wondered what makes an Oreo or Dorito so delicious? Find out how special ingredients called additives are used to create some of the most irresistable foods around.

6 - final investigation

Oh no - Chip and Dip have been captured! Can students use all of their new Food Detective skills to help save the day?
